My cancellation period is by 9pm the evening before the lesson. Please cancel before 9pm to avoid charge. I endeavour to send reminder messages as a courtesy but you should not rely on these.
For in-person lessons, please allow for my arrival 5 minutes either side of the scheduled start time resulting from variations in travel time.
Payment: lessons should normally be paid for within 7 days of the lesson taking place. Regular lessons may be paid for in bulk by agreement. Invoices/receipts can be issued on request. I may require payment in advance and/or pause lessons if a significant number of lessons remain unpaid.
Disruption to lessons: lesson time lost due to technical issues at my end (online lessons) or transport disruption (in-person lessons) or otherwise curtailed or cancelled by me, will be made up at the end of the lesson or otherwise at an agreed time.
Lesson time lost due to technical issues at the client’s end, late cancellation, lateness or no-shows, will only be made up in exceptional cases at my discretion.
Free trial lessons: these are intended to allow the student and me to get to know each other and create a plan for future lessons, as well as for the client to decide whether to commit. They are discretionary and are usually not offered to existing clients, where less than a school term’s worth of lessons are required, or for a date more than two weeks after the initial phone consultation.
Recurring weekly lessons: while I endeavour to honour 100% of recurring lessons, I may occasionally need to reschedule or cancel a lesson in a particular week (e.g. due to a one-off clash, annual leave, etc.). Occasionally for timetabling reasons I may need to change a regular timeslot or the format (online or in-person) of regular lessons. Where either happens, I will give as much notice as practical.
I may revoke a weekly reservation if a significant number of lessons are cancelled or missed in order to offer that time to other clients.
